  1. Emulsions are formed by the mixing of two or more liquids.
  2. Out of the two liquids one is of ultramicroscopic size and completely distributed in the other liquid.
  3. There are two categories of an emulsion generally found i.e., oil in liquid and liquid in oil.
  4. The emulsion may contain two-phase i.e. dispersed phase and continuous phase.
  5. Example: Oil in water is an emulsion in which oil is a dispersed phase and water is the continuous phase.
  6. The examples of emulsions are as follows: milk (oil in water).
