What is force? State the various effects of force.

1. Force is the push or pull which acts on a body.
2. The various effect of force is as follow:
   (a) Change in shape- Due to the application of force shape of the object may change.
   (b) Change in direction- Application of force can also cause a change in direction.
   Example- In a circular motion, we can see that force occurs perpendicular to the direction of motion, and the direction of the object changes due to the application of force.
   (c) Change in position- If a force is applied to an object then the object may accelerate and hence the velocity of the object changes and so is the position of the object. Or it can bring a moving object to rest.
