When a change occurs change in the reading frame it leads to the introduction of unrelated amino acids into the protein, generally followed by a stop codon. This kind of mutation is called as Frameshift mutation.
There are two types of mutations that does not affect the protein synthesis. They are:
Missense mutation
In this type of mutation, the new nucleotide alters the codon causing the synthesis of a different amino acid during the translation process. Here, the final product is changed but it does not affect the protein synthesis.
Silent mutation
Most of the amino acid like leu, pro has multiple codons. So, the replacement of the codons will not affect the protein synthesis and the final product.
