Solution

The correct option is A Formation of enzymes
Biochemically, enzymes are either proteins or nucleic acids. Most of the enzymes are proteins which are macromolecules made up of amino acids. Protoplasm constitutes more than 95% weight of the body of an organism. On the average protoplasm constitutes 84% water, 9% protein, 2% lipids, 2% carbohydrates, and traces of nucleic acids, i.e., DNA (0.4%) and RNA (0.7%). The trace amount of nucleic acids synthesize proteins through the processes of transcription and translation. Hence, trace elements of protoplasm are responsible for production of enzymes.
