Lymphatic system:

  1. It is a kind of circulatory system consisting of lymphatic capillaries, lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, and organs.
  2. It is a straw-colored fluid that contains plasma (without RBCs), platelets, and proteins.
  3. It has WBCs(white blood cells) that contain lymphocytes which help in fighting against infections.
  4. It has a one-directional flow, i.e., from tissues to the heart.

Functions of the lymphatic system:

  1. It helps in the transportation of clean fluids back to the blood.
  2. It helps in the transportation of fats from the digestive system.
  3. It helps in maintaining normal blood volume.
