Biological control is the practice of limiting the effects of harmful animals, pathogens, and plants using other useful organisms. They are mainly used for crop cultivation by controlling pests. It is an important constituent of integral pests management.
The three types of biology control practice are-
1. Classical biological control : Purposely Introducing a new antagonist into a pest to fight against it.
2. Augmentative biological control : In this process, natural enemies are added, to strengthen an already existing population or to temporarily establish a population of natural. For example, insects used in greenhouses.
3. Conservation biological control : It involves an intentional modification of the environment to save and promote natural enemies or antagonists to pests.
