Chemical double decomposition is a reaction in which there is mutual exchange of metallic and non-metal parts take place. Such reaction are also called as double chemical exchange.
Examples:

$M g S O_{4} + N a_{2} C O_{3} \to M g C O_{3} ↓ + N a_{2} S O_{4}$
