What is meant by deforestation ? What are the causes of deforestation ?

Cutting down of trees on large scale is call defforestation.
Due to defforestation there were many problems occurs in our environment.It is the reason of many problems like:-
1)Land degradation
2)soil erosion
3)Globalwarming
4)green house effect etc.
It is happen due to mainly increse in population and as human population increase their need increases for shelter, food wood etc so they started cutting down the trees.
