Food web

1. Many food chains are linked together to form a food web.
2. It shows an interconnection between different food chains.
3. In this network a higher trophic level organism feed on more than one lower trophic level organisms.

In the given food web, we can see that at least five food chains has been linked.

1. The first food chain is plant---snail---bird---- bird of prey.
2. The second one is plant--- insect---- lizard--- bird of prey.
3. The third one is plant ---snail--- snake ----bird of prey.
4. The fourth one is plant---- insect--- bird ---bird of prey.
5. The fifth one is plant---- snail--- bird--- snake ----bird of prey.
6. In this food web, we can see that bird of prey which is the top carnivore can feed on multiple organisms like snake, bird and lizard.
7. Thus from this it is clear that food web is an interconnection of different food chains.
