What is meant by forward bias and reverse bias of a diode? Indicate in a figure.

When the $p$-type and $n$-type side of a diode is connected to the $+ve$ and $-ve$ terminal of a battery, the diode is forward biased. when they are connected to the $-ve$ and $+ve$ terminal respectably the diode is reverse biased.
