Solution

Definition

A change in the position of an item in particular regard to its surroundings through the duration.

Example: Whenever a boy continues strolling across the sidewalk from school to home, we will say he seems to be in motion.

Types of motion

The different types of motion are as follows:

  1. Translational motion: An item goes along a route across any of the 3 dimensions throughout this form of motion.
  2. Rotational motion: An item travels along a circular route around a fixed axis within that form of motion.
  3. Linear motion: It is indeed a sort of translational motion wherein the body travels in a single dimension in just one orientation.
  4. Periodic motion: It is a sort of motion that occurs at regular periods of time.
  5. Simple harmonic motion: It is a sort of motion similar to that of a basic pendulum wherein the restoring force works throughout the opposite direction of the object's motion.
  6. Projectile motion: This sort of motion includes both horizontal as well as vertical displacement.
  7. Oscillatory motion: Within such a temporal range, the motion is repeating. If it is mechanical in nature, it is referred to as vibration.

Therefore, the motion may be seen in all aspects of our existence. In plenty of other words, whenever a body moves, then we say it would be in motion.
