- Mycoplasma is the smallest self-replicating organism(approximately 300nm in size).
- They are facultative anaerobes as they can survive in anaerobic conditions.
- They lack a cell wall.
- There are about 200 types of Mycoplasma, and most of them are harmless.
- Mycoplasma doesn't have a cell wall, normal antibiotics like penicillin don't work against them.
