Parasitism is an ecological relationship between two organisms in which one benefits by harming the other. In this relationship, one organism called the parasite lives on or inside the body of another organism called the host. The parasite benefits by deriving nutrition from the host and the host is harmed. Examples include ticks, tapeworms, etc.
