The pressure exerted due to the presence of Water is known as positive hydrostatic pressure (eg:- root pressure) The pressure created due to the absence or deficiency of water is known as negative hydrostatic pressure( eg:- Transpiration pull) positive hydrostatic pressure is pushing force whereas negative hydrostatic pressure is pulling force
