Solution

Soil Erosion
The process by which the top layer of the soil gets weathered away by agents like wind, water, glaciers is called Soil Erosion.
The denundation of the soil cover and subsequent washing down is described as Soil Erosion.
We can conserve soil by various activities like :
  • By planting more and more trees.
  • By practicing terrace farming in mountainous regions.
  • By practicing contour farming in which a layer of grass is sown in the between of two layers of crop.
  • By Planting rows of trees in coastal and dry regions to prevent soil erosion through wind.
  • By Growing different crops in alternate rows and sowing at different times to protect soil from rainwash.
