Synergid cells are 2 specialized cells which are located into embryo sac of female gametophyte, beside egg cells.

Functions:

1. It nourishes the ovum and give direction in the pollen tube.
2. Synergids are majorly engaged in blooming plant reproduction.
3. A pollen tube develops into one of synergids after fertilization process.
4. The tube stops growing, ruptures, and two sperm cells are released.
