Divide the figure into two rectangles (1) and (2)

Area of the rectangle with dimensions(1),
$10 m \times 5 m = 50 s q . m$

Area of the rectangle with dimensions(2),
$8 m \times 6 m = 48 s q . m$
$∴$ The required area = Area of the rectangle (1) + Area of the rectangle (2)
