Solution

Kidney:

  1. The kidneys are bean-shaped organs placed in the back of the abdomen.
  2. They have a reddish-brown colour and are in charge of removing waste items from the bloodstream.
  3. Kidneys are made up of special cells called nephrons at the cellular level, with an average human kidney comprising roughly 1 million of them.

Structure of kidneys :

  1. Our kidneys are two organs that are located on opposite sides of the abdominal cavity.
  2. The bigger left kidney is higher than the smaller right kidney.
  3. The kidneys, unlike other abdominal organs, are placed behind the lining (peritoneum) of the abdominal cavity, making them retroperitoneal organs.
  4. The back muscles and ribs, as well as the fat (adipose tissue) that surrounds them like a protective cushion, protect these bean-shaped organs.
