The correct option is C Spermatogonia, Spermatocytes, Spermatids, Spermatozoa
Spermatogenesis
Spermatogenesis is the process of formation of sperm from spermatogonia in the testes of males.
Process of spermatogenesis
Spermatogenesis starts at puberty. It involves three phases:
Multiplication phase - Primordial germ cells present in the walls of the seminiferous tubule undergo mitosis to form more spermatogonia.
Growth phase - Some spermatogonia increase in cell size and volume and are referred to as primary spermatocytes. Both spermatogonia and primary spermatocytes are diploid and contain 46 chromosomes.
Maturation phase - Primary spermatocytes (46) undergo first meiotic division (reduction division) to produce two secondary oocytes. Thus, secondary spermatocytes have 23 chromosomes.
Secondary spermatocytes undergo a second meiotic division to form four spermatids (23).
Spermatids undergo cell differentiation and produce sperms.
