Solution

Definition of Standard form:

Standard form is a way where a number can be written as a product of a decimal number between 1.0 and 10.0 and powers of 10.

Example:

Write 7290000000000 in standard form:

7290000000000=7.29×1012

Hence, 12 means that the decimal point was moved 12 times.
