These glands are ductless glands.​

Their secretions reach body surface (internal or external). ​

Their secretions directly pour into the bloodstream and reach their target organ/cells.​

Exocrine glands are mostly composed of enzymes and salts.​

Endocrine glands are composed of hormones.​

Examples: sebaceous glands, lacrimal gland, salivary gland, etc.​

Examples: thyroid gland, pituitary gland, adrenal gland, pineal gland, etc.​
