Expression Equation
An expression is an incomplete phrase that consists of numbers, variables, and arithmetic operations between them. An equation is a mathematical statement in which two expressions are equal to each other.
Expression is only one-sided. It contains variable, numbers on one side. The equation has two sides. A left-hand side and right-hand side are connected by an equal sign.
Does not contain any relational symbol. Contains the equal sign between two sides.
Example: $2 x - 5 (3 x + 7)$ Example: $3 x + 12 = 0$
