The following are the differences between amplifier and oscillator:

Amplifier	Oscillator
An electronic circuit which increases the amplitude of the weak signal is known as amplifier.	The electrical circuit which is used to generate an AC signal by suppling a voltage source is known as oscillator.
Amplifier uses a negative feedback to produce output.	Oscillator uses a positive feedback to produce output.
An amplifier can be used any number of times and anywhere in the circuit wherever it is necessary in the circuit.	Oscillator is used only once in the circuit that too at the start of the circuit.
