What is the difference between glass and quartz as both made up of silica (SiO2) ?

The difference between glass and quartz are as follows:

i. The structures of glass and quartz are different from one another. Glass is amorphous and has a random molecular structure where quartz has a symmetrical molecular structure.

ii. Glass has around 80% silicon dioxide and quartz has around 90% silicon dioxide.

iii. Glass does not conduct electricity but quartz conducts electricity.

iv. Quartz can be subjected to a higher temperature and pressure without damaging it than a glass can.
