Following are the differences between ionisation and dissociation.

1. Takes place in ionic compound.
2. It involves separation of ions that are already present (held together by electrostatic attraction)
Ionisation.
1. Take place in polar covalent compound and metals.
2. It involves formation of charge ion from the molecule which were not in ionic state.
