Dear student
The electronic configuration of Hydrogen in methane, cannot be assessed.
The atomic number of hydrogen is 1. That is it has one electron present in its outermost shell. Thus, we say electronic configuration of hydrogen is 1.
In Methane, CH4, C has four electrons in its outermost shell, and it binds to four electrons from four Hydrogens around it, thus completing its octet. C thus has four bond pairs around it. It is sp3 hybridised.
