Epicarp:

  1. Coconuts produce drupes as their fruit.
  2. There are three layers in all. Exocarps on the outside, mesocarps in the center, and endocarps on the inside.
  3. Below the exocarp, the epicarp can be found. It is waterproof and thick.
  4. Coconut husk refers to the epicarp.

Mesocarp:

  1. Mesocarp is the fibrous layer in the center.
  2. Between the inner endocarp and the outer exocarp, it can be found.
  3. The non-edible component of the coconut is the mesocarp.
