HOCl has linear shape but due to lone pair-lone pair repulsions it changes to bent shape.
The bond angle is near abour 103º
Shape and bond angle of hypochlorite ion :
Hypochlorite ion on the other hand is linear in geometry and has bond angle near about 180º
