The Eustachian tube is made up of bone and elastic cartilage. It connects the middle ear with the nasopharynx.
Function of Eustachian tube:
The Eustachian tube opens during swallowing and yawning, and allows the air to enter or leave the middle ear to equalise the air pressure on either side of the eardrum. If the pressure is not equalised or balanced, it causes intense pain and hearing impairment.
