Adrenal gland:

  1. Adrenal glands produce hormones that help in maintaining the immune system, blood pressure and metabolism.
  2. They produce hormones like adrenaline which is known as the stress hormones.
  3. They are also known as suprarenal glands and are present at the top of kidneys.
  4. In the event of stress, emergency or any threat, adrenaline is released in larger quantities by these glands.
  5. It also helps in regulating emotions like fear and anger by releasing its hormones.
