What is the function of tendon?

Tendons are the dense regular connective tissue. It connects skeletal muscles to bones. Depending on the orientation of the arrangement of fibres of the tissue, they are classified as dense irregular or regular connective tissue.

In dense regular connective tissue, the collagen fibres are present in rows between many parallel bundles of fibres. Ligaments are also dense regular connective tissue which connects bones to bones.

The blood is a specialised fluid connective tissue helps in the transport of nutrients and the gaseous substance to the different parts of the body.

Areolar tissue is a loose connective tissue present beneath the skin and serves as a support framework for the epithelium.
