  2. It is found attached to the thyroid cartilage and hyoid bone.

Functions of epiglottis:

  1. The primary role of the epiglottis is to seal the windpipe that is located adjacent to it, this prevents the food from entering the windpipe.
  2. It also helps in several languages by aiding sound creation in many ways.
