Solution

The correct option is C x+2yz
Required equation is
C(s)+2S(s)CS2(l) ΔfH=?
We have to find ΔfH for this;

Given
a. C(s)+O2(g)CO2(g) ΔfH=x

b.S(s)+O2(g)SO2(g) ΔfH=y

c.CS2(l)+3O2(g)CO2(g)+2SO2(g) ΔfH=z

Multiply the equation (b) by 2.
d. 2S(s)+2O2(g)2SO2(g) ΔfH=2y
Adding equation (a) and (d) and subtracting (c),

We get the equation,
C(s)+2S(s)CS2(l) ΔfH=?

This is the required equation.
Thus ΔfH=x+2yz
Standard heat of formation of CS2(l)=x+2yz
