Solution
Morphology:- The study of the size, shape, and structure of animals, plants, and microorganisms and of the relationships of their constituent parts.
Differences in morphology can account for the morphological evidence, to prove evolution as a true phenomenon.
Morphological evidence: The evidence from morphological deviations for a particular structure in different groups of organisms is a good example of organic evolution. The organs which have a common origin but may have a different function in a different group of the organism are called homologous organs. For example, forelimbs in horse, man, bat, bird. This proves divergent evolution. The organs which have a similar function in different groups of organisms but have different origin are called analogous organ. For example, wings of bats and wings of insects. This proves convergent evolution.
