Interphase nucleus:

  1. The interphase nucleus is the nucleus of a cell when it is not dividing.
  2. It is said to be in a resting phase.
  3. Chromosomes, during this phase are present inside the nucleus only.
  4. The interphase nucleus has highly extended and elaborate nucleoprotein fibres called chromatin, and one or more spherical bodies called nucleoli.
  5. The nuclear envelope consists of two parallel membranes with a space between them.
