Gross deformity:

  1. It is the extreme malfunctioning of the parts of the body or the entire body.
  2. Gross deformation generally takes place because of congenital defects.
  3. It is induced either by the mother’s deficiency at the time of pregnancy or by idiopathic causes.
  4. In adults, gross deformation results from non-reconstruction surgical operation failure, or due to more than 30 % acid burns or spillage.
  5. Some examples of gross deformity are clubfeet, cleft lips, palates, scoliosis, kyphosis, etc.
