We know that,
The median value or simply the median of a given number of observations is the middlemost value when the observations are arranged in ascending or descending order.

For odd number of observations the median is (n+12)th observation

Now,
arranging the data in ascending order we get,
1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 7, 7, 9

Now median,
=(9+12)th observation
= 5th observation i.e. 4.

So, 4 is the median of the given data.
