Open in App
Solution

The probability of an event is,

PE=NumberoftimesaneventoccursTotalnumberoftrials

When a coin is tossed, the possible outcomes are a head and a tail.

So, the probability of getting a head is,

Phead=12

We get,

Probability of getting 2 heads in a row = Probability of getting the head first-time × Probability of getting the head second-time

Probability of getting 2 heads in a row =Phead×Phead

Probability of getting 2 heads in a row =12×12

Probability of getting 2 heads in a row =14

Hence, the probability of 2 heads in a row is 14.
