Question

What is the process of uptake of mineral against the concentration gradient using energy of the cell?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student, the process of uptake of minerals against the concentration gradient using energy of the cells is the active mineral absorption and as it is an active process it requires the energy in the form of ATP. It can occur both along and against the gradient of concentration by the the process of osmosis or through the special carrier protein in the plasma membrane which requires energy to transport minerals against there concentration.
