What is the reason behind quick rise in temperature of sand compared to sea?
Specific heat of sand is less than that of water
Since, specific heat capacity of water is more than that of sand, it takes more time to become hot. For sand, the specific heat capacity is very less, so it heats up quickly during the day. The concept of latent heat is used in change of phase of state, so the remaining choices fail to explain the concept of sand heating up quickly.
