What is the role of root hair?
Root hairs:
1. Root hair, are outgrowths of epidermal cells, present especially at the tip of a plant root.
2. They are lateral extensions of a single cell and are rarely branched.
3. They are present in the region of maturation, of the root.
4. Root hairs are also called absorbent hairs.
Role of root hairs:
Root hairs collect water and mineral nutrients in the soil which is sent throughout the plant.
