Open in App
Solution

Spirochetal movement:

  1. Spirochetes are class V bacteria, and their movement is referred to as spirochaetal movement.
  2. Spirochetes are bacteria that are long, right-handed, and helically shaped.
  3. Periplasmic flagella and axial fibrils found in bacteria coincide and run a sub-polar end to other spirochetes.
  4. The mechanism of spirochetal movement is unknown, but the proposed anticlockwise rotation of the flagellum can cause bacteria to move.
  5. Treponema pallidum is a common example of this movement.
