Type of genetic inheritance:

It is a sex-linked recessive disorder. The gene of color blindness is present on X-chromosome.

More frequent in men:

The disease is more common in males because of the presence of only one X-chromosome as compared to two X-chromosomes in females.

Physiological explanation:

This disorder occurs when there is a problem with the pigments in certain nerve cells (known as cones) of the eye that sense color.
