Why is translocation essential for plants?
Translocation
The movement of materials such as carbohydrates and amino acids through the vascular bundles (xylem and phloem) produced as a result of photosynthesis from the leaves to the rest of the plant is known as translocation.
Importance of translocation in plants
Since the site of photosynthesis differs from that of the site of the storage of nutrients, so, the process is extremely crucial for plants to translocate nutrients and minerals from leaves to the rest of the plant.
