  1. Nucleic acid has one phosphate group, one nitrogen-containing base (pyrimidine or purine), and a sugar molecule, which in turn has alcohol and aldehyde/ketone group.
  2. Lipids consist of carboxylic acid with long hydrocarbon chains (usually above 16 Carbons long).
