Wilson's disease:

  1. Wilson's disease is an autosomal recessive disease.
  2. During this disease, ions of copper infiltrate the liver, brain, cornea tissues.
  3. Also, excessive excretion of copper ions is evaluated, whereas blood level of copper ions is low. The ceruloplasmin level is also small.
  4. The reabsorption of amino acids, uric acid and phosphate salts is failed in the kidney.
  5. Such pathogenesis of disease is still not clear.
  6. Half of the patients were born into families of close relatives who were affected.
  7. Heterozygotes also show decreased incorporation of 64Cu isotope to ceruloplasmin.
