Solution

Enzymes:

Enzymes are biological catalysts which are proteins that speed up the metabolism or chemical reactions in an organism.

Enzymes in lysosomes:

  1. Lysosomes are membrane-bound organelles found in the cytoplasm of a cell.
  2. The main function of lysosomes is intracellular digestion of macromolecules, removal of dead cells, and elimination of viruses and bacteria.
  3. So it contains digestive enzymes such as hydrolytic enzymes which hydrolyze lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic acids.
  4. For example, lipases, proteases, glycosidases, etc.

Therefore the enzymes found in lysosomes are hydrolases.
