The reasons which led to decline of the cottage industries in 19th century was:
The importing of cotton textiles from India to Britain was stopped because the factory owners feared that Indian products will ruin their industries.
British mill cloth in Indian markets was promoted instead of local product.
The factory made cotton textiles was far cheaper than the textiles made from traditional weavers and artisans in India and so captured the market.
