Solution

The main drawbacks of Mendeleev's periodic table have been removed by the classification of elements on the basis of atomic numbers are

  1. Elements that are discovered later do not follow Mendeleev's periodic law, because chemical properties do not depend on atomic mass, they depend on atomic number.
  2. No separate position for isotopes of an element is provided in Mendeleev's periodic table.
  3. Wrong order of some elements was placed in Mendeleev's periodic table for example cobalt (Co) and Nickel (Ni). Cobalt which has high atomic weight was placed first and nickel which has less atomic weight was placed after cobalt.
