Solution

The correct option is A 2.451 g
Decomposition of KClO3 is given by,
2KClO32KCl+3O22mole2moles3moles1.491g0.672

1 mole of O2 occupies 22.4dm3 of O2
Then 0.672dm3 of O2=0.67222.4=0.03 moles.
1 mole of O2=32g.
0.03 moles of O2=32×0.03=0.96g
Mass of potassium chlorate =M(KCl)+M(O2)=1.491+0.96=2.451g
